Frequently Asked Questions How long do these flowers last? The tropicals, protea, orchids (cymbidiums, dendrobiums), anthuriums, ginger, heliconia all last anywhere between 2-3 weeks. The anthuriums and cymbidiums will last a little longer. Carnations and alstromerias also last just as long as the anthuriums. The spring flowers, lily, roses, sunflowers, snapdragons, renuculas will last up to 2 - 2.5 weeks. What can I do to maximize the life of the flowers? You should maintain the water level of your arrangement. In hotter areas we suggest to water your arrangements every other day and for cooler climates 2-3 times a week. Your flowers will stay healthier with fresh water. For flowers that are not in oasis, cutting the bottoms of the stems about 1 inch 2-3 times a week and changing the water daily will increase the life of your flowers significantly. Keep in mind that cooler water is best. How long do the leis last? Tuberose, rose, and cigar can last up to 4-5 days. Leave them in a plastic bag in the refrigerator after each use. Orchid leis can last up to 1 to 1.5 weeks, leaving the lei in the refrigerator after use. Maile can last 2 weeks, again, keeping it in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. Silverleaf with Kukui Nut Lei and Mock Orange with Kukui Nut may last over 2 weeks. Please keep in mind that the flowers do get bruised with each use. Do the leis stain clothing? The only lei that will stain your clothes is the akulikuli. What are your fragrant leis? Tuberose Maile Puakenikeni Micronesian Ginger Do you deliver? We deliver to areas on the Big Island within a reasonable proximity. Delivery fees do apply. Delivery within Waimea is $7, Kohala and Honoka’a is $15, Hilo and Kona or farther is $20+. Can I take my flowers back with me to the mainland? Most of our leis can go home with you with the exception of the Kukui and Mock Orange lei. Although our flowers are of the freshest quality, we need to process the flowers to meet the state’s agricultural requirements. Carrying the flowers on the plane with you is taking a risk, we recommend that you order ahead of time so that our staff can hand pick the freshest flowers, process them, pack and stamp with the state's agricultural approval for you. How much do you charge for shipping? We use FedEx Shipping only. Shipping will be charged directly to your credit card or FedEx account. Shipping rates can be viewed at FedEx.com. Please note that FedEx does not deliver to P.O. Boxes. Can I order any type of flower? Certain flowers are seasonal so they are not available year-round. We will offer the best possible substitution for any off-season flowers. Other variables affect flower availability. Bad weather, for example, will produce poor flower quality. If we need to special order your flowers from growers outside of Hawaii, it is more expensive and we cannot guarantee the condition of the flowers upon shipment arrival.
